A refusal like this usually comes from anti-bot software, not from the site's written rules, so on its own it does not count as a block. The homepage also turned our bot, which says who it is, away with a refusal page sent with HTTP 200 instead of an error code. Charles Schwab says it blocks unauthorized outside AI agents that log in with client credentials or drive a browser (American Banker, 15 Oct 2026). Under our rules, that statement plus our bot being turned away sets the status to Blocks AI.","computed_at":"2026-10-20T03:43:14.753Z","last_checked":"2026-10-19T13:46:48.818Z","checker":{"allowed":true,"vantage":"residential connection, United States (manual run)","origin":"https://www.schwab.com"},"robots":{"via":null,"kind":"refused","http":200,"error":null,"url":"https://www.schwab.com/robots.txt","hops":[{"from":"https://schwab.com/robots.txt","to":"https://www.schwab.com/robots.txt","status":301}],"blob":null,"text":null,"refused":{"door":"refused","http":200,"detail":"a refusal page sent with HTTP 200 instead of an error code"},"warnings":[],"contentSignals":[],"contentUsage":[],"licenses":[],"aiComments":[],"platform":null,"wildcard":null,"named":[],"lines":0},"agents":[],"refs":[],"lanes":{"training":{"level":"unknown"},"search":{"level":"unknown"},"user_directed":{"level":"unknown"}},"door":{"door":"refused","http":200,"detail":"a refusal page sent with HTTP 200 instead of an error code"},"edge":{"cdn":["Akamai"],"botManagement":[]},"llms":{"state":"refused","http":200,"note":"a refusal page sent with HTTP 200 instead of an error code","url":"https://www.schwab.com/llms.txt"},"ai_txt":{"state":"refused","http":200,"note":"a refusal page sent with HTTP 200 instead of an error code","url":"https://www.schwab.com/ai.txt"},"tdmrep":{"state":"refused","http":200,"note":"a refusal page sent with HTTP 200 instead of an error code","url":"https://www.schwab.com/.well-known/tdmrep.json"},"meta":{"title":"Charles Schwab","robotsMeta":[],"noai":[],"noindex":false,"jsonLdTypes":[],"platform":null,"textRatio":0.435,"llmsLink":false},"x_robots_tag":null,"tos":{"url":null,"source":null,"skipped":"No ToS URL curated or discovered"},"paid":null,"program":{"domain":"schwab.com","summary":"Plans to let outside AI tools connect through Schwab-controlled MCP servers to check balances and do research, but not move money.","source":{"publisher":"The Next Web","date":"2026-10-16","url":"https://thenextweb.com/news/schwab-blocks-ai-agents-meta-muse"}},"statements":[{"domain":"schwab.com","company":"Charles Schwab","effect":"blocks_agents","summary":"says it blocks unauthorized outside AI agents that log in with client credentials or drive a browser","source":{"publisher":"American Banker","date":"2026-10-15","url":"https://www.americanbanker.com/news/schwab-blocks-unauthorized-ai-agents-points-clients-to-charley"}}],"claim":{"domain":"schwab.com","company":"Charles Schwab","claim":"Charles Schwab is blocking agents from accessing accounts.","grade":"supported","grade_label":"Supported by the company","statement":"Schwab blocks unauthorized outside AI agents that use client login credentials or browser automation, and CEO Rick Wurster said outside AI will not be allowed to move money.
